Our client, Dr. Roger Mugford, has recently been selected as the 2015 recipient of the World Pet Association’s Matsui Award. As Britain’s leading animal psychologist and behavioral therapy pioneer, Dr. Mugford has improved the lives of thousands of animals, and we are thrilled he has been honored with the pet industry’s most prestigious lifetime achievement award. Dr. Mugford is also the recipient of a 2015 Pet Age ICON Award, an honor given to individuals who have shown a lifelong commitment to the pet industry.
Dr. Mugford has dedicated his life to improving the lives of pets through applied animal behavioral therapy and animal welfare advocacy. Originally trained in human psychology, Dr. Mugford became fascinated with the interactions between pets and their owners early on in his career. In 1979 he founded the Animal Behaviour Centre in Surrey, UK, as well as The Company of Animals brand. Today, The Company of Animals carries a range of life-changing training tools and other pet products that have improved the lives of thousands of pets and their owners.
When he’s not busy training the Queen’s famous corgis or caring for his own animals at his farm in Devonshire, you can often find Dr. Mugford doing what he is most passionate about – defending the rights of pets and their owners. As an avid animal welfare advocate, Dr. Mugford represents pet owners in British courts every week, protecting their pets and giving animals a voice.
For nearly six years, Matrix Partners has been truly grateful for the opportunity to work with such an amazing animal advocate and leader in the pet industry. Congratulations Dr. Mugford, and thank you for all that you do to help animals across the world!
