Our Social Media Strategist Cassandra just landed a Pet Age Forty Under 40 award!
At 26 years old, Cassandra is a fresh face in the pet industry. She joined the Matrix Partners team over two years ago and has since brought a wealth of talent, energy and creativity to our firm.
Cassandra graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Journalism from Columbia College in Chicago, where she was also the class valedictorian. In her position as Social Media Strategist, she is responsible for all social media programming conducted on behalf of Matrix clients, from devising strategies and managing communities to creating and curating content. Thanks to her deep insights and tireless efforts, Matrix Partners recently received two Gold Hermes Creativity Awards for orchestrating both the social media launch program of Inaba Ciao cat treats and Integrated Marketing campaign of the Barkworthies Chews Rescue program.
Because social media strategies are constantly evolving, there are ample opportunities for Cassandra to demonstrate her leadership strengths every day. One of her first initiatives when she joined Matrix was to implement a comprehensive social media management system so that all activities took place according to a disciplined plan. She managed to overcome client biases against social media and digital marketing activities by showing how these practices could build stronger, more sustainable brands. By applying these positive, consensus-building techniques, Cassandra has been able to deliver successful results for clients including Inaba Ciao, Charlee Bear, Barkworthies, Prime Taste Treats and many more.
Like her mythological namesake, Cassandra is adept at anticipating “the next big thing” and predicting how it will rearrange the digital landscape. She looks out for the best interests of her clients in a world where participation in social media can change priority in the blink of an eye. She has also recently taken on new business initiatives for the firm, ensuring that the future of Matrix Partners will be even brighter.
“Matrix has offered me the ability to combine my skills in writing with my love of pets, and I’m grateful to come to work every day knowing I enjoy what I do,” Cassandra said. “Being recognized by Pet Age magazine is an honor, and I hope to keep positively impacting the industry for years to come.”
In her off-hours, Cassandra contributes her time to support the Heartland Alliance Adopt-A-Family campaign, an international program that provides gifts and necessities to those in need during the holidays. During state and national elections, she has worked with the Illinois chapter of the League of Women Voters to register new voters. Cassandra also served as a regular volunteer at her hometown animal shelter.
